The Stokes Collection is regarded by many antique experts as the greatest private collection in the southern hemisphere.
Situated at the centre of the stunning Forest Glade Gardens, this remarkable collection represents the life-long passion of Cyril Stokes.
It all began in 1954 when Cyril bought a small painting for two pounds. Over the years it has evolved into a breathtaking anthology of 18th and 19th century porcelain, a spectacular collection of French furniture, many Boulle pieces, a grand set of tapestries from a South American palace, extensive collections of paintings, marble, statuary and a dramatic collection of oriental works of art.
Due to Cyril Stokes' lasting generosity, The Stokes Collection has now become a Trust that will remain in perpetuity for the public to visit and enjoy for generations to come.
The Stokes Collection is open to tours of adult groups by invitation only at $30 per person.
Bookings are essential.
Smaller groups can request an invitation to reserve a place on a group tour by calling 03 5426 1323 from Mondays to Thursdays.
